FCCC @ CCCC-Gold - 22-Sep-2007 - Reported by Rajesh Mosur(CCCC-Gold)
Gold won the toss and elected to bat on a nice day for cricket. Dipal started the proceedings for FCC with a first ball wicket. GOLD then steadied the batting with a fine partenship of 49 between Misbah and Rohith before Rohith was dismissed for a well made 20. A second partenship of 53 between Misbah and Rajesh Mosur gave GOLD a good launch pad. At the end of 23 overs GOLD were 94/3. Misbah was soon dismissed after he reached his maiden CCL half century - a very well compiled innings against a very good bowling attack. Certainily a player to watch out for in the following years. With valuable contibutions from Govind, JJ, Solanki & Sam, GOLD reached a total of 174/9 in 40 overs. Dipal was the pick of the bowlers for FCC finishing with 2/36.
FCC opened with Gopal & Ganesh. A very disciplined opening bowling spell from Jarrar & Cecil had FCC struggling at 29/1 after 10 overs with the lonely wicket at this stage coming from a run out - Ganesh run out by an accurate throw from JJ. Jarrar finished with a spell for 8/23/1 - the wicket of a dangerous looking Nadeem off the last ball of his spell, a very good catch by Misbah. Cecil bowled a fine
uninterrupted spell of 8/25/1. With fine support from Solanki, JJ & Swadeep GOLD got FCC all out for 151 in the 39th over. Dipal top scored for FCC with 48.
Misbah was declared MoM for his maiden half century and 3 very fine catches.

CSCC @ DSCC - 23-Sep-2007 - Reported by Lee Crump(DSCC)
CSCC won the toss and put DSCC to bat. Even with the loss of the first wicket in the first over, DSCC stood tall with Sunny Ramesh and Vamshi Mugatha to build a wonderful partnership, with both players carefully selecting which balls to hit out at, and running intelligently. Eventually, Vamshi Mugatha and Sunny Ramesh were both dismissed for 62. Vamshi the first to depart, bowled trying to force the pace a little, and Sunny well caught one handed in he outfield by Kervyn. Vamshi Kyatham walked out and began where Vamshi Mugatha left off. Vamshi began to set a different tone, hitting the CSCC bowlers all around the ground. Eventually Vamshi was dismissed for a quick fire 48. At the end of the 40 overs, the Denver Sluggers had reached their highest total of the year, posting a difficult target of 226 for 6. Raymond was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 26, while Abhay, Keshav, Murugan & Kervyn Dimney picked a wicket each.
CSCC knew they were facing a big challenge. With a run rate required of almost 6 an over, and the usual afternoon clouds rolling into Colorado Springs threatening rain, CSCC went on the attack and no DSCC bowler was spared. Kervyn played a sublime innings of power hitting. At the end of the 12 overs, CSCC were 101 for 1 with the CSCC run rate over 8. At 1 for 157, Kervyn at the non-strikers end having just made his century(68 balls), was run out by Suresh. While all of the momentum was with the CSCC, one could sense the change with that single runout. CSCC needed a further 69 runs to win with 8 wickets left. At the second drinks break, the CSCC was 5 down and beginning to unravel. In the end, the target was to prove too great as the remainder of the CSCC innings collapsed. Reaching 200, CSCC had lost it's last 9 wickets for just 43 runs, and the rains that threatened to steal the game away from the Sluggers never came.
Vinod Bhoj and Vamshi Kyatham were the pick of the DSCC bowlers capturing 3 wickets each, with Suresh & Mahesh picking a wicket each.
Kervyn won the Mom award for his brilliant century, the first wicket breakthrough and the one-handed catch to dismiss Sunny Ramesh in the outfield.
MoM: Kervyn Dimney(CSCC)
