Tennis Weekly T20 League Match Reports

WEEK 1:

Sunday 6/13/2010 Orchards vs Anchors at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont

Match was cancelled due to rain.

Sunday 6/13/2010 Spartans vs Crazy Cricketers at Memorial Park, CO Springs

Crazy Cricketers won the toss and elected to field first. Spartans scored 85/8 in 20 overs with Venu topscoring with 14 runs. Upendra and Venesh took 2 wickets each for Crazy Cricketers. Crazy Cricketers achieved the target in 19 overs losing 4 wickets.

Man of the match was Venesh Molleti from Crazy Cricketers for 28 not out and 2 wickets.

Sunday 6/13/2010 Warriors vs Rockers at Memorial Park, CO Springs

Rockers won the toss and decided to field first. Warriors were not able to score big even after a solid start given by their openers (43 in 10 Overs). Bhaskar (3 wkts), Rangan (2 wkts), Shobhit and Vanesh bowled tight spells and they were supported well by Balaji (1 wk) & Indhu. Bowlers did not allow Warriors to score freely due to which Warriors came under pressure and started loosing wickets in regular intervals. Rockers fielding was excellent as always. The highlight of fielding was Chaithanya who made 3 run outs with direct throws.Warriors were all out for 82 runs in 19 overs.

After restricting Warriors for 82, Rockers start was not so good. Nagaprasad and Yuvaraj started the inning however, Yuvaraj got out early and so did Kishor. Nagaprasad (15 runs) and Chaitanya (14 runs) played very matured innings. They built the inning by rotating the strike and hence were able to put pressure on the bowlers by maintaining a good run rate. After loosing Chaithanya and Naga in quick sessions, Vanesh and Balaji built another solid partnership. Vanesh played captains inning with quick 17 runs and sealed first win for Rockers easily.

Man of the Match was Nagaprasad from Rockers.

WEEK 2:

Saturday 6/19/2010 Circle at Sunset vs Buffs at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont

Buffs won the toss and decided to bat in a reduced match of 16 overs because of both teams coming late.
CAS kept chipping with wickets with Buffs reduced to 42/5 but a brisk partnership between Nutty 28 and Sudeep 31 took the score to 116/7 in the 16 overs. Ashok bowled a good spell with 16/2.CAS started well,with Ashok playing a valiant knock of 15.But once this man came into the frame he never stopped.

Sudeep Surendra finishing with 13/7 and 2 hatricks in the game which might be the record figures by a bowler in the tennis league.ensuring Buffs score a comfortable victory by 66 runs.

Sudeep Surendra from Buffs was Man of the Match for his 31 not out and 7 wickets.

Saturday 6/19/2010 Orchards vs Kangaroos at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont

Kangaroos won the toss and elected to bat first. They ended up scoring 78 all out in 19 overs.Kari and Sasikant scored 28 runs and 22 runs respectively. For Orchards, Kuldeep took 3 wicket while Imran took 2 wickets.

In reply,Orchards reached the target in 14 overs with 3 wickets to spare.Imran was the topscorer with 26 runs not out. Shankar took 3 wickets for Kangaroos.

Man of the Match was Imran Quadri from Orchards for 26 runs not out and 2 wickets.

Saturday 6/19/2010 Denver Tigers vs Anchors at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont

Anchors won the toss and elected to field first. Tigers scored 66 all out in 19 overs. K. Tarakaran was the topscorer for the Tigers with 11 runs. Amrul bowled well for Anchors picking up 4 wickets.

In reply, Anchors managed 56 all out in 19.2 overs with Bipin topscoring with 22 runs. Venugopal took 3 wickets for Denver Tigers.

Man of the Match was Amrut Pullagurla

Sunday 6/20/2010 Rockers vs Spartans at Cornerstone Park, Littleton

Spartans won the toss and elected to bat. With a disciplined bowling Spartans gave away only 26 runs in the first 10 overs. Rockers ended up scoring 76 in 20 overs losing 5 wickets. Bhaskar was the highest scorer with 16 runs, Vanesh and Devraj scored 9 runs each.
For Spartans Guru and Satish got 2 wickets each.

Spartans had a shaky start losing 4 wickets with only 25 on board. Guru stabilized the innings scoring 12. It was Satish with his aggressive batting style took the match away from the Rockers. Satish was the man of the match scoring 22 runs off 18 balls. Santosh completed the game for Spartans by hitting a Big SIX.

Man of the Match was Satish Kalikivaye for 22 runs and 2 wickets.

Sunday 6/20/2010 Crazy Cricketers vs Prime Contenders at Cornerstone Park, Littleton

Prime Contenders won the toss and put Crazy cricketers into bat. The opening pair did a fair job by hanging onto the wicket until 5 overs. Then Venesh and Karthik played good pacing the game very well. Then the boost to the score was given by Venesh, Rakesh, Rajshekar & Babu. The total was 134 for 8.

Prime Contenders lost early wickets. They were doing good until the 5th over where they were 27 for 2 but from then due to some outstanding bowling and fielding by Crazy Cricketers they were all out in 12 over at 44.

Man of the Match was Venesh from Crazy Cricketers for his 36 runs.

Sunday 6/20/2010 Rockies vs Challengers at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont

Challengers won the toss and elected to bowl first. With the disciplined bowling, soon they bowled out Rockies in the 18th over on 63. From Challengers, Mangesh took 3 wickets while Ravi & Manoj claimed 2 each. Venkat took 3 catches behind the stumps. Manish was the top scorer with 18 runs.

In reply Challengers chased down the total in 15.3 overs with 5 wickets to spare. Venkat was the top scorer with 17 runs while Gaurav made 13. Ravi and Mangesh remained not out on 15 & 8 runs respectively.

Man of the Match was Venkat from Challengers for 17 runs and 3 catches and economical bowling.
