Twenty20 Match Reports - (15-16th July 2017)
CCCC at FRCC: T20 game - played on Jul-22 2017 – Reported by Rohit Saini(FRCC)
This weekend FRCC played 2 of their previously washed out T20 games. FRCC hosted CCCC for the first game.
FRCC’s captain Rohit won the toss and had no hesitation in deciding to bat first. FRCC were high on confidence from last week’s win over LCC and wanted to bat out the opposition by putting up a big total.
Openers Sumeet and Waqas provided the aggressive start and added 56 runs in the powerplay.
CCCC got the breakthrough in the next over when Waqas(21 off 15b 1x4 1x6) got run out.Meanwhile, Sumeet completed another half century and with Sanket on the other end added another 50 runs partnership for the team. FRCC somehow lost the plot in the middle overs when they lost 4 quick wickets in Sanket, Rohit, Amal and Afshin.
But with a long batting line-up and Sumeet still going strong on the other end there was nothing to worry about. In the 15th over of the game, Sumeet (106 off 54b 6x4 10x6) finally completed his first T20 century in CCL with a six. But his superb knock ended in the same over when he got bowled by Praveen. In the last 5 overs Murali (25
off 18b 0x4 2x6) and Subhashish 39 (15b 3x4 2x6) added another quickfire 60 runs to get the score past 200 and FRCC finished up with 219/7 in 20 overs. Praveen and Saket took 2 wickets each for CCCC.
Chasing a big total, CCCC hadn’t had the best of starts. Rohit got 3 quick wickets in Ashish, Cecil and Anil and after that there was no coming back. CCCC kept losing wickets and were bundled out on 102 runs. Some resistance came in the form of Sachin 21 (18b 0x4 2x6) and Satya 26 (25b 2x4 1x6), but that wasn’t enough and FRCC comfortably won the game. For FRCC, Rohit and Sridhar took 3 wickets each.
Man of the Match: Sumeet Khule was rightly named the Man of the Match for his first/maiden CCL T20 century 106 (54b 6x4 10x6).

T20 – CSCC-Stars VS DCC, July 22 2017 at Memorial Park. Reported by Prasanna Damodaran(CSCC)
This was a much-awaited match between both the clubs. Some of the DCC players are ex-CSCC team members. This game was supposed to be played on the last week of April, but extended snowfall pushed it to July. It is one of the matches in the RMSG tournament.
DCC won the toss and decided to bat first. DCC had a slow start after losing Jaswinder to Prasanna’s good length in the 3rd over. Prashanth joined Sameer and kept the scorecard moving. Sameer looked confident and was middling the ball very well. When DCC were 51/1 at 8.4 overs, Sameer tried hitting Avinash over extra covers, but it turned into a catch that Sandeep covered good distance to make it look very comfortable to get him out. Immediately in the next over Prashanth lost his leg stump to Chaithanya’s slower one. Captain Harpreet faced the CSCC-Stars' bowlers with grit and kept the score going. Kervyn began his over with a boundary, but took Harpreet 21(18b) when he tried playing across to Kervyn’s yorker length delivery and completely missed it. DCC looked strong with 80/4 in 14 overs, but keep losing wickets in regular intervals. Kervyn and Avinash’s extraordinary spell didn’t allow DCC’s middle order batsmen to stay long as they kept attacking the stumps and were successful to restrict DCC. At the end of 18.5 overs DCC were all out for 90 runs. Kervyn picked 4 (3-0-10-4), Avinash picked 3, Prasanna, Abhay and Chaithanya took 1 wicket each.
CSCC-Stars had a terrible start after losing Kervyn on the very first ball of the innings. He tried to pull Sanket’s short ball, but skied it. Soon Jayanth departed after trying to hit Aravind’s good length to midwicket, but top edge landed to Jaswinder at 2nd slip. CSCC-Stars lost 2 wickets for just 3 runs on board and tried to stabilize the innings. But DCC bowlers kept taking wickets in consecutive overs. At the end of 9.4 overs CSCC-Stars were just 33 runs for 6 wickets. DCC looked more comfortable, they just needed 4 wickets to register a win. CSCC-Stars batsmen Prasanna and Chaithanya started their innings, when it was almost run a ball to win in last 10 overs. Chaithanya started his usual power hitting shots after facing 5 balls. He hit a couple of sixes in Harpreet’s 3rd over and bought the game back to CSCC-Stars track. With the scores tied he was encouraged to go for the big one to complete his 50 and the win, but was unfortunate to get out. Chaithanya scored 45 in just 28 balls with a four and 5 sixes. Prasanna had supported Chaithanya with singles and doubles and then finished it off with a 4. At the end of 17.5 overs CSCC-Stars won the match.
Man of the Match: Chaithanya Kumar Chava for his all-round performance: 45 (28b 1x4, 5x6) and 3-0-11-1.
