Manoj Gangwar When passion meets selflessness.

Manoj came down from Jabalpur in India to Colorado in the year 2000 and has been associated with the Colorado Cricket League, the tennis cricket league in particular since its inception in 2005.

His passion and determination is second to none as he has taken Tennis Ball Cricket in Colorado to great heights over the years and with that has helped Colorado Cricket to grow in general. This soft spoken gentleman is one of the best administrators and go-getters which was the absolute need for Colorado Cricket. The success of his administration can be measured just by the fact that the Tennis Ball League has grown from 8 teams in 2005 to 20 teams in 2013. At this time, the league also comprises of teams from Wyoming and Nebraska and is continuing to grow at a rapid pace and has also attracted a lot of regular season ball players playing for various teams improving the quality of cricket overall.

One of those who believes in being a part of the structure and changing things than criticizing from the outside, he has not only driven this league but also pushed a lot of others towards taking up administrative duties in the league. His mere passion towards the game and the league was a catalyst for a lot of us to work towards the betterment of the league. He has been successful in securing sponsorship for this league for the last 3 years for every tournament played. He has been approached by various charity organizations for fund-raising cricket tournament and has successfully organized those tournaments and is continuing to do so.

At a time, when resources to play cricket were at a paucity, he has been instrumental in working towards procuring grounds in Colorado, which I believe has been an outstanding achievement. He has been relentless in working with the city administrators to the pitch makers and in giving presentations to various city councils to build more grounds around the state which has helped more teams to come in and enjoy playing cricket. We understand that he is in the process of procuring another ground as we read this article.

Never a person to mince his words or opinions and one of the best listeners you can come across, always open to suggestions from any player who might be 1 match old or 150 matches old alike. A keen ear and open mind to positive criticism is, I believe, one of his greatest strengths which brought a lot of stability to this league over the years. You can rest assured that the organization is in the best hands with people like Manoj around.

Apart from cricket, he is a devoted family guy who loves to relish his chai and biscuits while he is not thinking cricket. Not to mention the homemade chai we used to get at the grounds from his house. An absolutely dedicated man whose idea of a long weekend camping might be to setup a tent on the cricket ground for his family. He also runs a badminton club in Longmont since 2005 which holds tournaments and coaches young kids as well.

We recognize him for his unbridled passion towards this game and his outstanding administrative skills for driving and expanding the game of cricket in Colorado.
