Narayan Madabusi(CSCC) - CCL's 3rd player to officially reach the 300 wickets mark

Author: Kervyn Dimney(CSCC)

If you check up on Narayan's CCL profile description (or screenshot below), part of it reads as "More than a batsman, he is an awesome wicket-taking swing bowler that often comes in as the first change bowler. His dipping and swinging deliveries often keep the batsman on their toes and awe-struck when he beats and/or claims their wicket." So it is no surprise that Narayan Madabusi has become CCL's third 300+ wickets taker, preceded by only 2 other players, Dipal Patel (310) and Mike Riley (354). The other 2 players following him are Kervyn Dimney (248) and Swadeep Pagadala (216) of the "200 club".

With 186 wickets in the Premier format, and 116 wickets in the Twenty20 format, that brings his tally to 302 as of 8/20/2017 with the game against FCCC. I'm sure we will be celebrating his 200th Premier wickets within the next couple of games before this season ends....No pressure there Narayan !!!

Narayan, who was on 299 wickets when the innings began, reached the landmark in his 178th inning in the first delivery in the 12th over (his 2nd over) when Santanu Ghosh was trapped LBW. When the decision finally came in CSCC's favor, Narayan heaved a sigh of relief amidst the applause and celebrations from his teammates. 300 !! 300 !!. See Game# 2769 - P40 FCCC vs CSCC 20-Aug-2017.
He later went on to cross the 300 mark by getting Dipal Patel bowled to a beautiful inswinging and dipping delivery that knicked Dipal's bat and went onto his stumps, and then getting Omer Rafiq caught by Avinash. He finished his spell with analysis of 8-0-24-3.

Joining CSCC in 2007, Narayan made quite an impact in his very first game in CSCC colors, against LCC, capturing 4 wickets for 4-0-25-4, and then scoring a decent 23 that saw CSCC on the winning side.
Narayan is a very passionate team player, and has also captained the CSCC side multiple times with his latest being in 2016. His performances have him featured and recognized as the Player of the Week on 6 occasions and each of those write ups are very apt. For most seasons, he has consistently been CSCC's top wicket taker.

While taking 3 to 4 wickets started becoming a norm for him, he picked up his first fiver on 26-Jun-2010 against BCC at Memorial Park with analysis of 5.4-0-11-5; and has done so six times so far, with 1 of them being a 6'er.
That game against BCC saw him as the Man of the Match (See BCC Vs CSCC Scorecard) and the Player of the Week
